Zhang Kangle, who drew attention in the dual male lead drama The Way Home, is among the young rising actors of C-ent. However, the 23-year-old star recently found himself criticized on Li Mingde’s social media once again. Li Mingde, who has taken over Chinese internet in recent weeks with his “exposés” on alleged misdeeds in the industry, claims he’s standing up for actors because “someone has to.” While his posts initially gained traction, his subsequent rants on social media also drew backlash. Eventually, he announced that he was throwing in the towel, admitting, “I’ve lost.”
Criticisms Aimed at Zhang Kangle
Before all this, Li Mingde responded to a netizen who had asked whether Zhang Kangle and his The Way Home co-star Ma Boquan would end up like him. Li Mingde replied, “No, they already accepted being baptized by capital.” His comment seemed to throw shade at the two actors, accusing them of being opportunistic in the capital-driven entertainment industry.
While Li Mingde has since announced his departure from the industry, his recent social media activity once again targeted Zhang Kangle. In response to a netizen using a handle with Zhang Kangle’s name who wrote, “No one cares about you,” Li Mingde fired back, “Fans of the pretentious weirdo have arrived.” He added, “He is like a monkey, praising the high and stepping on the low.” Interestingly, Li Mingde claimed he wasn’t online, insisting his phone was off and he was at the airport. Nevertheless, his remarks have fueled speculation about behind-the-scenes drama between the two actors.
Zhang Kangle, who is recently enjoying a surge in popularity, has stayed silent on the matter. He is set to appear as the second lead in Legend of the Female General, which was rumored to be airing soon. Incidentally, both Zhang Kangle and Li Mingde worked together on this drama.
