Seo Kang Joon, Kang Tae Oh are all set for their K-drama comeback following their military discharge

Kang Tae Oh and Seo Kang Joon return to the small screen with exciting new dramas following their military discharge.

The production teams of The Potato Lab and Undercover High School unveiled character stills featuring the leads in their respective K-dramas.

The Potato Lab follows Kim Mi Kyung (Lee Sun Bin), a passionate researcher obsessed with potatoes and So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), a charismatic but ruthless capitalist driven by making profits. So Baek Ho arrives at the potato research center in a mountain valley, where he clashes with Kim Mi Kyung.

In the stills, the actor is seen wearing a perfect suit fit and a bright smile, portraying So Baek Ho.

As a corporate director at Wonhan Retail, So Baek Ho is a perfectionist with little warmth. When his smile fades, his stern demeanor becomes even more apparent.

Anticipation grows over how So Baek Ho will change when he comes to the Potato Research Institute.

Kang Tae Oh shared his thoughts on choosing The Potato Lab as his first project following his military discharge, saying, “When I first read the script, I felt its warmth and healing [vibes]. I thought it would be a great project for my return. I chose The Potato Lab because I felt it will become a good memory.”
Describing his character, So Baek Ho Kang Tae Oh said, “Baek Ho makes all his decisions and actions based on his own set of principles. At first, he may seem like a cold and rigid person, but I tried to delicately express his transformation process as he gradually becomes one with the Potato Research Institute and the townspeople after meeting the character of Kim Mi Kyung.”

He added, “Baek Ho is like a potato peeled in running water. A potato with its skin cleanly peeled looks sleek, like Baek Ho.”

The Potato Lab will premiere on March 1. The K-drama will be streaming on Netflix.

Another K-actor making his return to the industry is Seo Kang Joon, playing the lead in Undercover High School.

Undercover High School tells the story of a National Intelligence Service agent Jung Hae Seong (Seo Kang Joon) who goes undercover as a high school student to track the whereabouts of Emperor Gojong’s missing gold bars.

The newly released stills showcase Seo Kang Joon in a school uniform, in a suit, riding a bike, and resting his chin on his hand with a book open in front of him.

However, he exudes a different vibe when he transforms into an NIS agent. His sharp gaze and the subtle tension in his expression leave viewers curious about the challenges he faces. Particularly, a still of him in a suit, focused and serious during a mission, sparks intrigue about how he will overcome the obstacles that lie ahead.

Undercover High School is set to premiere on February 21. The K-drama will be streaming on KOCOWA+.
